The Shore Approach

Shore is a design and construction studio working across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. We design houses for the way they will be lived in, then build them with the same care we put into the drawings.

Our work begins with the site. Orientation, neighbours, the line of the land, and the way the light moves through the year. Decisions get made against constructability and long-term maintenance, not just the rendered image. We work in stages, with sign-off at each one, so a project never gets ahead of the client.

The studio is deliberately small. The senior designer who starts the project is the same one who walks the site at handover. We hold the line on material quality, on detailing, on the way a junction reads up close. Restraint is the point. What we leave out is what makes the rest sit right.

Site first

Every design begins with the site. Orientation, neighbours, the line of the land. We frame decisions against what the place wants, not what is fashionable.

Built to be built

We design what we can build. Every detail is tested against constructability, budget, and the people who will live with the result.

Material restraint

Few materials, used well. We hold the line on quality at the junctions, the finishes, and the surfaces you touch every day.
